"Freedom From Nicotine" Program

Program Description:
Coordinator/Director of program and facilitators of all groups or school programs are master's level counselors or RNs with extra training in cessation.  The group program is called Freedom From Nicotine and can be 6 to 8 sessions, 1 to 1½ hours per session, depending on the program.  Freedom From Nicotine is offered at the Inova hospitals and in corporate & community settings.

Program Services:
Face-to-face counseling, group counseling, inpatient services and relapse prevention (for recent quitters).

Program site is wheelchair accessible and accessible by public transportation.  Services are available to cigarette, cigar, and pipe smokers and smokeless tobacco users.  All populations, including pregnant women, recovering addicts, low-income patients, youth, etc., are served.  Languages: English

Two-Step Smoking Cessation Program

Offering the use of hypnotherapy, for individuals seeking help with smoking cessation, in a two-step program to treat nicotine dependence (two one-hour sessions). Ms. Zaepfel is a licensed clinical social worker, licensed substance abuse treatment practitioner, and certified hypnotherapist (trained by the American Institute of Hypnotherapy, American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and Mark Lawrence, M.D. of the Imagery Training Institute).

Program site is wheelchair accessible.

Other services include traditional individual, family or group psychotherapy (counseling). Specialty areas are: anxiety, addiction, depression and chronic illness.
